Cherish is the second and latest EP by the Dresden band Dethroned. They play a pretty interesting cross between death metal and hardcore. The first Extended Play Short Fuse was released in February 2019 and is perhaps already known to some, especially due to the band’s recent concerts.

The new output, which is being released as a tape via Injustice Records, picks up roughly where Dethroned left off with Short Fuse. There are only three tracks, which is admittedly quite sobering, but they are surprisingly strong considering the band’s short history. The songs crack pretty well, offer plenty of variety and clearly show the band’s potential. Everything is there – two-steps, blastbeats, side-to-sides and a good portion of grooves, which at times strongly remind of Eat Me Fresh.

Dethroned will release the EP soon, but unfortunately there is no exact date yet. But you should definitely listen to Cherish and for those who like crossover and/or tapes, it should certainly be worthwhile.
